Home improvement weekend

Saturday morning we awoke to a squeaking ceiling fan above our bed. My solution was to just turn it off and hope that the squeak would go away the next time we turn the fan on but James had other ideas.

One trip to Home Depot and this happen:

Well the fan didn't get up there that quickly like the "I Dream of Jeanne" effect, it did take a few hours of James grunting due to his bad shoulder. James swears he's not a handyman but I knew he could handle a simple switching of an old fan for a new one. Have you noticed the crop circle up near the base of the fan that meets the ceiling? Seems that neither one of us thought about that when picking out the new fan. Well maybe the new fan will be the motivation that I've been needing on my Friday's off to finally paint our bedroom.

Farmer Bailey

Bailey's hard work and patience has finally paid off. Her first crop of the season...

Two red tomatoes all for Bailey with more on the way. She loves tomatoes so much now we are starting to use them as rewards for her with the potty training. Now when we go out to eat, James isn't too upset when the tomatoes have been left on now that he has a tomato eating child sitting next to him but I do mind when she taking them off my plate.

Over the weekend Bailey decided that her Barbie jeep need some more work done on it. Watch out Papa, she'll be borrowing your tools soon.

Move over Elton John

Last weekend James and I were introduced to the "The Grandpa" song by Bailey.

In case you couldn't hear or understand it the song basically goes like this:

"Going to see Grandpa at Pizza Hut!!!!"

I think Bailey now knows when Me-Me takes her back to Harrisonville with her, she'll get pizza for dinner that night in Louisburg, Ks. on the way there.

Tomatoes

Bailey loves tomatoes! Loves them to the point to that she now will take them off my plate before I get a chance to eat them. So for her birthday she got her very own tomato plant to grow. Every day she waters it when she gets home from day care and tells the plant to turn red so that she can eat it it.
Yes, she tells the plant to turn red due to the crying fit we had when the small little green tomatoes appeared. She was very upset that day when she found out she was going to have to wait until they at least got bigger and turned red. So far this little patio tomato plant is producing 9 tomatoes just for Bailey's dinner plate.

I finally updated my knitting blog, so check it out yo!
